Bandits Complete The Sweep!

Bandits 13 vs Philidelphia 12
It was Kevin Dostie with 7 seconds left at HSBC Arena in front of 14,882 screaming fans that gave the Bandits the lead and the win against Philidelphia on Saturday night. At one point they were down as much as three goals, deja vu if you saw that Sabres/Senators game. This is the Bandits third straight win and they improve to 5-4 on the season. This was only the second time the Bandits swept a home and home series with the rival Wings, who drop to 4-4

Hall Of Fame: Darris Kilgour

NLL HALL OF FAME 2007: DARRIS KILGOUR
Player turned on-floor success into success as a coach

02/15/2007

Darris Kilgour was the first ever player drafted by the Buffalo Bandits, a team he now coaches. He was a three time All-Pro and was the first player in NLL history to have his jersey number retired. The second inductee into the 2007 Class of the National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame is a player who has turned his on-floor success into success on the bench as a Head Coach.

Darris Kilgour was the first player ever drafted by the Buffalo Bandits, selected in 1991. Kilgour and the Bandits played their inaugural season in 1992 and despite an 0-3 start, went on to win their next 22 straight games, including the 1992 and 1993 championship games, and their first four games of 1994. The win streak stands as an all-time record. The 1993 Bandits remain the only team to go undefeated for an entire season (10-0). Kilgour was also a key player for Buffalo's other championship team, winning the title again in 1996.

Darris Kilgour played nine seasons (1992-2000) in the league, eight of which he played for the Bandits. He scored 312 regular season points on 144 goals and 168 assists. Kilgour played a total of 15 post season games in his career and tallied 61 points on 26 goals and 35 assists.

Kilgour earned three All-Pro selections in his playing career, including First Team Honors in 1998 and Second Team Honors in both 1992 and 1997. He retired in 2000 and became the first player in NLL history to have his jersey number retired, as the Bandits retired his #43.

Following retirement Kilgour has made the transition from winning player to winning head coach, a legacy he is still building today. From 2001 to the present he has coached his teams to playoff berths in all six of his seasons behind the bench. After a pair of seasons in Washington, Kilgour returned home to coach the Bandits in 2003. That season he led Buffalo to a 12-4 record and was named the league's 2003 Head Coach of the Year. In his four seasons with Buffalo Kilgour has lead the Bandits to two appearances in the championship game and he also served as the 2004 East Division All-Star Game Coach. Heading into the 2007 season Kilgour ranked fourth on the league's all-time coaching wins list, with 66 combined regular season and post season wins. Kilgour began the 2007 season just three wins shy of Tony Resch for third on the all-time coaching wins list.
